Madrid Milers Labor Day Run
2011 proved to be a challenge this year. The Hy Vee Triathalon being on the same weekend
and the weather not cooperating made for smaller numbers, a wet experience but persistent
runners. Out of 137 entries, we had 125 finishers. No one chose to come off the course
because of the weather and all seemed to fare well.
The Madrid Milers would like to thank all of the entrants/runners, all of the volunteers
at the registration, on bikes, at the water stations and at the finish line, Market of
Madrid for the bananas, AE for some of the yogurt, the Madrid Labor Day Committee,
the Madrid Police Department and the Madrid Elementary School. Without all of you,
this would not be possible.
